The Howard County School Redistricting process is at an important juncture and your voice needs to be heard!The AAC released its redistricting plan(AAC Draft Plan) on Tuesday(Aug. 8) and it's a major improvement over the original plan - Emerson and Wincopia will stay with Atholton High School, and it moves about 2000 fewer students than original plan.
We need to let the AAC know that we like its plan, and we need to do this urgently.
Next Tuesday August 15th the AAC will finalize its plan so you need to voice your opinion before then.
(There are communities already filled out lots of surveys, and we don't know whether they support or against the new plan)

1. Do the survey
- Give 5 stars to AAC Draft plan
- Please select AAC Draft Plan is better thanFeasibility Study
Below two choices are must select, which we as a group think the most important (from tonight's committee meeting)
1) Efficient Use of Existing Seats (ex. capacity utilization between 90% - 100%)(Policy 6010 IV. B. 1. a)
2) Number of students moved achieves multiple policy 6010 considerations (Policy 6010 IV.B.3.e)

[The AAC Plan is superior to the Feasibility Study. It solves overcrowding by moving far fewer students and Preserves Atholton HS.
Modify it to reunite the Emerson neighborhood (6010-IV.B.2.b.)

2. Invite your neighbors to do the survey
- Forward this email to your neighbors
- Knock the doors and help them fill out the survey
- Bring ipad to Movie Night tomorrow, and help others to fill out the survey
- Attention: Be sure they do the survey onAAC Draft Plan, Be sure they give positive feedback
