It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you for being selected by the Secretary of Commerce to receive a Group Gold Medal for Scientific/Engineering Achievement.
This medal is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and passion for public service. I am so proud of the many contributions you and the other award recipients have made across the breadth of the NOAA mission, especially using your expertise and creativity to develop and implement an advanced Hurricane Weather Research and Forecast System model, which significantly improves hurricane intensity prediction.
You are a fine example of the wonderful talent we have in this agency. I look forward to celebrating with you at the Department of Commerce's 66th Annual Honor Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, January 27th in Washington, DC. Details for the ceremony will be provided at a later date.
