I’ve been using Rocket Player for years now, it’s always been fantastic 😊

My Galaxy A51 just updated to Android 11 this morning and now Rocket Player won’t play for more than a few seconds or so in the background without being closed by the task killer. I’m not (as far as I’m aware) using any 3rd party task-killers.

It’ll play fine if it’s the active application but as soon as I switch to the desktop or another app, or the screen goes onto timeout, Rocket Player gets killed a few seconds later.

Is there anything that can be done?

I'm interested in this as well, as I have an A51 that has not yet updated to Android 11.  But given the description (i..e, that it dies when you put it in the background), have you tried going to Device Care > Battery > App Power Management and indicated that Rocket Player is on the list of Apps that won't be put to sleep? It sounds like what happens is when you take focus away, the app is being put to sleep to save power.

Aha, thanks that seems to have worked!

Just for anyone else that may be running into this issue. This site has great info on how to configure your battery settings to stop killing off apps.

Let me know if you run into any issues or have questions.

Thanks
