Hi guys so far all updates have been brilliant, but since last one scan for new music gets stuck until I force stop the app

I've taken a screenshot to illustrate

I have a PRIV running android 6.0.1

Let me know if you need more info.

My guess is that Rocket Player is hung in the part where it tries to check with the system to see if it has any playlists we don't know about. So any playlists from other music players would be imported.

I this is the issue can usually resolve by refreshing the mediastore database.

Please give this a try and let me know how this works for you.

Unfortunately your instructions won't work on my handset - PRIV's run a hybrid android system with Blackberry security so parts of the OS that are usually accessible are restricted on my handset (can't access media store)

I'm positive you can reset the media database. The problem is that the instructions are not the same for every phone.

Sometimes you have to go "Menu->All", sometimes "Menu->System Apps", Sometimes "Menu->Show All Apps". The exact way to show the system applications can be different. Once you've shown system apps, the media storage is usually called the "Media Storage" app, but of course that differs too, and differs with language.

Once you find the Media Storage application, we just want to clear the data and cache, then reboot the device to force it to rebuild.

I don't see any system apps in the screenshot. Try pressing the three dots on the top right, and then seeing if their isn't a "Show System Apps" option.

I've got the same problem. I can see Media Storage but my only options are force stop or disable. Samsung S7 running Android 7.

Hi Clive,

Can you send a screenshot? You should see "clear cache", OR you will see "Storage" which you can click and go to another screen that shows "Clear Cache".

Thanks Justin
That fixed it. I clicked on storage and was able to clear the data.

Er1nye5, would you mind emailing Music...@jrtstudio.com. If we are still stuck, we need to gather some log files and see where Rocket Player is hanging at.
