This front is definitely pushing some birds into the area. I’ve had a LOT of activity and mixed flocks in the last couple days. I’ll bet I had 40-50 birds at a time flitting around the yard.
I normally don’t start feeding this early in the season, but when I just saw my first stunning white crowned sparrow, I said ‘it’s time.’

I have one female hummer who has stayed. Saw her yesterday but so far not today.

One morning last week when it was in the low 40s I stood by my kitchen window at first light and saw a hummer just huddled on the perch of the feeder — not feeding, just hunched up on the perch. When I went to the back door I saw another, just sitting on the perch of another feeder — not feeding, just waiting. The two of them just sat there, near the food sources, until the sun rose and with it the temperature— then they both became active. Haven’t seen that behavior before, but then, I’m not often up in the kitchen that early😆

not much going on at Kendal.  Morning or evening, but I didn't walk far. Looking forward to Dick's program here
tomorrow.  Can I pay dues before/after his program?
