In my scenario, I work for an institution that has more than 2000 recruits for become a Police. We have 100/150 pc users joined to a domain but, we have a lot of students and users that have tablets non-joined. Also, Mobile Phones and personal Notebooks.
I share this solution because I could not found any other without using HTTPS inspection. Im using Transparent mode and HTTP only. Also, App control only block the ultrasurf app, not the chrome extension. And, all the threads are too old.

I already apply your configurations BUT Ultrasurf in this problem is not an application it is a ADDONS/EXTENSION on gchrome browser.... We already know that UTM can block Ultrasurf Application. Sadly under Application > Proxy configurations as you said.. Ultrasurf is still active.. users may still access blocked url..
So its not seeing the application correctly? Perhaps that is a question for TAC support? Have you added a rule that blocks the ultrasurf application prior to all your other policies to see if it will block it? Or maybe you can use the URL filtering to block Category: proxy-avoidance-and-anonymizers?
However, it deploys great but once deployed, all the student have to do is shut down the computer and restart Chrome, they can go right back to these extensions via the Chrome Store and they've got them.
@boberito That's an impressive extension blacklist, and will make a good start for my site. I don't suppose you have a version of the list that includes the human readable names of the extension you could post so I can tell what's there without doing a search in the Chrome Web Store?
We use a similar profile, except that we white list the ones that we allow. I'd rather add to that list when requested than "not know what I don't know" about what new VPN extensions may have been released.
Below is the Chrome plist file we push to all our student laptops. As you can see we start by blacklisting all and then whitelist extensions as they are requested and we check them out to make sure they're not doing anything we don't want. It seems to limit the problems. We did also find that we needed to clone the Config Profile and also apply it to com.google.chrome.canary. This was after we noticed that a lot of students were suddenly using Chrome Canary and were therefore able to load all the extensions they wanted.

I am running into a problem though. I can get this plist to deploy perfectly and block ALL extensions on my test machines, however when I try to deploy it to a few student machines in the real world, it doesn't go into their "preferences" folder and work.
I've even tried to manually copy the plist (com.google.chrome) into the "preferences" folder but there it sits. It doesn't affect Chrome like on my test machines. On the test machines it kills the extensions in a matter of seconds and removes any ability to reinstall them.

After a full week of enabling/disabling extensions, I finally found that it was caused by an extension called Video Grabber (not in Chrome Web Store anymore) that I might have installed years ago.
1.Check is there any apk(application either from playstore or others) were installed. Identify what application and then google it if other user might face the same problem.2.Recheck your chrome settings. Make sure nothing weird on there
Otherwise, this is my opinion. Sometimes I have installed certain games and application from 3rd party and then after installing and use it for few times. Sometimes, either once a day or more chrome automatically open up and went to certain sites in playstore. Its nothing to do with virus bzoc that is another way of promoting certain application to people. 100 % not virus I think bcoz it linked up with playstore. If link to another website then it may be.
Yes, we finally got it, some guys in form support team in Checkpoint Spain helped us, but to be honest, I don't remember the specific solution... We passed the homologation with several changes activated and then deactivated because were interferring in the normal behaviour of our product (based on Checkpoint engine using the API). I remember that was not necessary to activate HTTPS inspection, that we modified Ultrasurf recommended settings to "Any" (check the png attached). The problem mainly was that Ultrasurf was trying high ports nad always found one available to connect, with "Any" or customizing to "high ports" for TCP and UDP it worked.
Below is all you would find if searching for it in dashboard, so I assume thats best you can use to block it. Otherwise, you would have to block any IP / fqdn's related to it, which is not really viable solution.
I have the same problem as @franctorres, I am in the middle of an homologation of the product and all the test with ultrasurf fail, it always connnects, even activating Anonymizer and Critical Risk categories, and Ultrasurf and Ultrasurf Chrome extension applications. In the log the GW drops some connections, but finally it connects.
Guys, I have really good lab with https inspection enabled (yes its R81.20, but I dont think version matters), so if you need me to test this with any specific ultrasurf category/site, please let me know.
@iesnoz , you say that there were some packets blocked even you had the AppControl in use, but can you show the logs so we see what was allowed and what was blocked? Could it be that it was allowed on HTTPS while HTTP was blocked? as I was reading some papers, Ultrasurf tries HTTP then some HTTPS connections in order to build the SSL tunnel .
