What does it mean "The person who owns the domain and such can no longer be contacted?" Did someone try and get no response (or a bounce)? Or is he or she intentionally refusing to be contacted?

According to whois.com, for rocwiki.org, the individual owner is not identified.

Expires On: 2025-11-19

So I guess we'll see what happens in 9 days.

But even if it expires and someone renews it, where are the files and data? Had there been a call for help with expenses? Had there EVER been a call for help with expenses or administration? Just so unfortunate to lose rocwiki. archive.org has a copy. Who is "peteb" in real life, does he know anything? It just seems crazy that after all these years, no one knows who physically operated rocwiki.

The domain registration isn't yet a problem. The issue with which Mark Jackson starts this thread lays in the host server configuration or backing database:

Hi Gary,

There is a specific person who owned the domain and space it resided in. Rae Tucker.

They have left town. A few people were trying to get control of the wiki a few years back including Damian Kumor. Damian stopped replying to messages asking for an update.

Rae has not responded to email requests.
