Okay so I might be missing something, I'm trying to use iPod's built
in VPN feature with little success.

I sucessfully set up my home laptop as a VPN server by creating a new
connection for it (using PPTP) and opening up the proper ports, etc
and even got my ipod to connect to it, but now what?

I want to be able to access the information on my PC such as my C:
drive and all the local files on it.

Please help, or am I simply misunderstanding what VPN is to be used
for? If I am fill me in. Thanks

Hi Chris,

While I have activated VPN and used it to connect to my work network
so that internal web servers were available via HTTP, I haven't tried
to access the file system on any server inside the firewall. I think
to do that you'd need to find some way to create a file pointer to the
C:\ drive and have software that will support navigating into it (eg:
Finder.app). But that would be a new thing to me. Have you tried
posting other places, like at ipodtouchfans.com?
