recommended sites & bike routes in Copenhagen?

I've never visited before, but I know its reputation as a city that is beautiful and very bike-able. Have you visited? Can you recommend sites to see or routes to ride? Is it better to use the Bycyklen bike share system or rent a bike from a local shop? I've got a coupla extra days to play tourist, and my wife is coming along. I promise to bring back photos, and to write an article for the RCA website!   --Doug

Prefer bike shop rental because you probably can get the style of bike that will fit better, and sometimes can customize. I once brought my clipless pedals and shoes and rented a drop bar road bike.
