RYP is offering two events this week. On Wednesday, join us for an RYP Mega Mixer at RIT Inn and Conference Center. All of the local chambers of commerce will be in attendance for a great professional networking opportunity. RYP is the only non-chamber of commerce group invited to participate. The cost is $10 and includes appetizers. To RSVP, email <Michele....@rballiance.com>. Also, join us on Saturday for the RYP Arthritis Walk at Seneca Walk. RYP Mega Mixer

Runs: May 5th
Times: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Location: RIT Inn-5257 W. Henrietta Rd.
Description: Been looking for a great networking opportunity? RYP is pleased to announce our affiliation with all of the Chambers of Commerce for the 3rd Semi-Annual Mega Mixer. We are the only group that is not a Chamber of Commerce that this invitation has been extended to! Cost is $10 for RYP Members.

Join us for a productive and fun night of networking with businesses from around the Rochester area. Hors D’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar is available. You may register online for this under “Events” at http://www.RochesterBusinessAlliance.com

RYP Arthritis Walk

Runs: May 8th
Times: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Seneca Park-Longhouse Shelter
Description: Join RYP members as we walk to support the Arthritis Foundation. By joining the Arthritis Walk you are becoming a part of Let’s Move Together that encourages people to move daily for better health and to prevent or treat arthritis. This is a great way to meet other RYP members, enjoy some fitness in a serene setting, and support a good cause.

To register go to: http://10walkrochny.kintera.org and select Team RYP. You can make a donation to the team even if you are unable to attend. If you plan on walking email Maria at maria....@r-y-p.org. Dogs are allowed.

Community Activities

RPOrocs Social

Runs: May 5th
Times: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Location: Edibles
Description: After a long day at work you get into your car and tap your finger on the steering wheel to the tune coming out of your speakers. It's habit, because music just does that to you. Join RPOrocs for our inaugural event to celebrate your natural love of music and have a great time.
Included in the $5 admission is the opportunity to mix and mingle with young RPO musicians, and two-for-one drink specials. RPOrocs also will be raffling off a pair of RPO concert tickets and a box of Black Box Riesling.

City Walk

Runs: May 6th
Times: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: East Ave/Alexander
Description: Ok, so it's a day late. Don't think that'll stop us from having a good time at our own "Cinco de Mayo en la Sexta" party! Join us for the next City Walk, coming up Thursday, May 6th as we head down to stop at East and Alexander! Of course, as we do every May, our first stop will be Mex (295 Alexander Street, http://www.mexrestaurant.com). Come out and enjoy $3 house margaritas (yes, you read that right) and Dos Equios drafts plus free chips & salsa! We love hanging out at Mex - whether it's in one of the indoor cozy seating areas or on their great front porch! If you do plan to eat dinner at Mex, please be sure to make a dinner reservation ahead of time.

Our second stop is the recently re-opened Mamooche Bisto (384 East Avenue, http://www.mamoochebistro.com)! Mamooche is extending happy hour pricing: $3 domestic bottles and $2 drafts, $3 Jameson Shots and 1/2 price appetizers. We can't wait to check out this first time stop! It's been a long time coming!

Our last stop of the night will be One (1 Ryan Alley, http://www.oneryan.com) with their awesome rooftop bar! One is also extending happy hour pricing: $5 Setka martinis, $5 wines, $3 wells and domestic beers and 1/2 price appetizers. Beautiful location and wonderful food...a great way to end the night!

As always, expect free raffles and just a lot of fun out on the town with other city walkers! Bring friends or come alone - either way, you'll have a great time!

ArtPeace Fundraiser

Location: Distillery-Mt. Hope
Description: Join Distillery Restaurant on Saturday, May 8th, to celebrate Cinco De Mayo and raise funds to support ArtPeace! Just come into the Distillery on Mt Hope between 3pm and midnight and let your server know you are there to support ArtPeace... that’s it! 15% of your bill will then be donated to ArtPeace. Enjoy Distillery’s great menu and fantastic drink list all while supporting a local nonprofit! There is also a Yankees v. Red Sox game at 3 pm to watch on Distillery’s big screen TV!

Working Class Theater Presents: Hellcab

Easter Seals Walk

Location: Genesee Valley Park-131 Elmwood Ave
Description: Please join us for a morning of fun at Easter Seals New York's 4th Annual Walk With Me event in Rochester on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Genesee Valley Park in the Roundhouse/Gazebo. By participating in our signature 2 mile walk, you will be helping Easter Seals New York provide life-changing services to more than 3,000 children and adults with disabilities and special needs in our community.The day begins with registration at 8 a.m., followed by the walk at 9:30 a.m. All participants will have an opportunity to meet the Easter Seals Ambassadors who have benefited from Easter Seals services.
After the walk, everyone is invited to enjoy a celebration of food, beverages & entertainment. Parking for the event is free. (Next to the Roundhouse Gazebo)So, lace up those walking shoes. It's easy and fun! We will also be happy to provide the required documentation for students working to fulfill a community service requirement.
