This week, RYP has two events. On Wednesday, be sure to join RYP for
our social at the premier health and fitness club,
Midtown Athletic
Club. The mingling will be in the outdoor pool and entertainment
lounge area of the club and will include complimentary appetizers. On
Thursday, join RYP members for volunteering and mingling at
Foodlink.
This is a great opportunity to meet other young professionals while
helping the community. After volunteering, members socialize at

Midtown Athletic Club Party

Description: The Rochester Young Professionals and Midtown
Athletic Club have joined forces to bring you "Party by the Pool". In
case you didn't know already Midtown Athletic Club, the premium health
and fitness facility in the Rochester Area, has a new outdoor pool, spa
and entertainment lodge, which we will feature during our September RYP
Event. The event will feature a cash bar serving beer and wine and also
some great happy hour hors d'oeuvres. Don't worry about bringing your
swimsuit because this party will be a dry, except for the bar!
RYP Volunteers: Foodlink
Runs: September 9th
Times: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: 936 Exchange Street
Description: Rochester Young Professionals is having a volunteer
event at Foodlink. As a group, we will be helping sort packaged items
for Foodlink. This event is open to all RYP members and friends. Come
on out and help out this great organization. Afterward, we'll all go to
Nathaniel's (251 Exchange Blvd.).
FoodLink works with area food retailers, manufacturers and wholesalers
to acquire, sort, store and redistribute food to its member charity
programs - especially soup kitchens, shelters and emergency food
pantries. In addition, FoodLink also provides food to hundreds of
non-emergency programs like group homes, day cares, senior centers and
camps.

Description: This free mixer will feature wine and sweet and
savory treats. This is also an opportunity to check out their brand new
state of the art Music Computer Lab. Try out instruments in the
"Instrument Petting Zoo."
South Wedge-ucation
Runs: September 9th
Times: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: South Wedge
Description: Get smart at City Newspaper’s South Wedge-ucation
event! Like City’s Recession Procession and Pittsford Village Pillage,
South Wedge merchants will offer up ridiculous offers on food, goods,
and services. For a continually updated list of offers visit the South

Writers and Books is having a contest for an I-Pad that they would like
to promote to RYP members. The drawing will be Sept. 25th. To learn
more about Writers and Books and to purchase a $10 ticket go to

provides summerwrite youth camp scholarships to low-income children.
RYP Announcement
Exciting International Professional Development Opportunity for
Young Professionals
Rotary District 7120 is looking for potential candidates to apply for
the Rotary Group Study Exchange Program. They are seeking YP's who are
interested in participating in this year's exchange with the Rotary
District in Veracruz, Mexico for a 4 week professional development
program in the month of May. Team member candidates are required to be
between 25-40 years of age, currently employed, able to take a
professional development leave for 4 weeks, complete a pre-application
process (including a formal interview), and promote international
