Last Day to Register for the Rochester Triathlon

Today is the last day to register for the Rochester Triathlon sponsored by SMP. We still have a few spots in each race available. Race day weather looks fantastic so all the fair weather racers should register before time runs out. I have personally willed the waters of Lake Ontario to recede in order to accommodate the swim portion of the race. We marked the run and bike courses last night and the roads are in really good shape. We should have a very fast bike portion of the race. For those of you doing the Intermediate distance, you will get to experience the most beautiful part of the run. The roads that the run course follows in the neighborhood north west of culver and sweet fern are shady, cool and beautiful. For you faster athletes, be sure to watch out for deer on your run.
If you can't race for some reason, you should be volunteering and supporting your club, the Rochester Area Triathletes. If your family will be there watching, encourage them to volunteer. They might get to see you in a few interesting places along the route. All our races are run by volunteers - from the Race Directors to the people keeping you safe on the course. We are all volunteers.
If you've already registered, our Letter to Athletes will be coming out today. In the meantime, feel free to go to www.roctri.com and check out the FAQ which will answer 98% of your questions. If you still have questions after the Letter to Athletes comes out, feel free to email or call me.
There will be absolutely NO race day registration. You must register online at www.roctri.com by midnight today.

As an added bonus this year, we have sun sails to shade athletes and spectators during the race and awards ceremony. Make sure your family arrives before the road closures happen at 7:30 am. Once Lake Shore Blvd is closed, it will be a long walk from Eaton Road or the Golf Course parking lot.
