Critical Mass'ers should participate in Rochester NY Bike Week:
www.rochestercyclingalliance.org

The Rochester Cycling Alliance is your active advocate for improving bicycling conditions in Rochester NY & Monroe County.

The Rochester Bicycling Club is your recreational bicycling club and it has been advocating for better bicycling conditions for over 40 years.

The Rochester Cycling Alliance is free of charge. It does need bicycling advocates to attend meetings and for bicycling advocates to comment at those meetings and in writing. Not particularly as thrilling as cycling but very necessary.

The Alliance was one of the prime organizers and promoters of the recent Rochester Bicycle Symposium.

Join the Alliance!

Join the Rochester Bicycling Club and ride with like minded cyclists (not racers). The Club schedules over 400 rides every year. The rides are of varying distances. Bicyclists of different abilities are on all RBC rides. The faster cyclists take off and cyclists like myself (I do accumulate ~6000 mi.per year) stay in the middle or end of the riding group. For $20.00, you receive a CD with the Club's copyrighted map set, discounts at local bicycle shops, and all sorts of information. The $20.00 also allows the Club to support other bicycling organizations such as the Rochester Cycling Alliance, the New York Bicycling Coalition (your bicycling advocate in Albany, and the League of American Bicyclists (your bicycling advocate in Washington). As a member you can submit a map of your favorite ride and you can lead a ride (your new ride or one from the map set) yourself.  .

Here's an interesting blog post on Bike to Work Week in Calgary Alberta.
