The weekend will facilitate new directions for peoples’ media as well as facilitate collaborations between media makers and activist groups. You will walk away with a better understanding of the media landscape, practical skills for media creation, and new relationships to build on.

Special guests include: Mike Burke (DemocracyNow! producer), Yusef Shakur (Detroit community activist, former prisoner http://www.yusefshakur.org/), DeeDee Halleck (Media activist and co-founder of Paper Tiger TV), The Stimulator ("It's The End of The World As We Know It and I Feel Fine" http://submedia.tv/), Mara Ahmed (local independent film maker), Branda Miller & Steve Pierce from The Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY (http://www.mediasanctuary.org/), Amy Dalton (Philadelphia & US Indymedia http://indymedia.us/en/index.shtml), Elizabeth Press (Streetfilms http://www.streetfilms.org/), and all the supporters and members of Rochester Indymedia.
