AMF-IND-T0243    Tuesday    3:00 PM    3 hrs    Salons I-J
Freescale Semiconductor
Presenter: Eric Gregori, Field Applications Engineer: Freescale Semiconductor
Session Title:Hands-on Workshop: Sense, Move, Repeat—Tools to Simplify Robotic Motion and Vision
Mobile robots require seemingly complex real-time reactions to function in a dynamic environment. Learn about a low-cost walking robot development kit and robot vision toolkit that simplifies sensing, vision and walking algorithms. Program a robot that integrates accelerometers to balance on two legs, low-cost proximity sensors for interaction with people, and an ARM® core-based i.MX applications processor for real-time computer vision. This new Freescale development kit will be demonstrated using both Windows® Embedded CE and Linux® embedded operating systems.
Track: Industrial
Market Segment: Factory Automation
Architectures: 8-bit Microcontrollers: HCS08, Flexis™
32-Bit Microcontrollers: ColdFire®, i.MX Application Processors
General Technologies: Imaging
Networking: Linux
Sensors: Accelerometers, Proximity Sensing
Session Level: Intermediate
Session Type: Hands-on Workshop

AMF-CON-T0143    Tuesday    2:00 PM    1 hr    O'Hare Conference Room
Freescale Semiconductor
Presenter: Eric Gregori, Field Applications Engineer: Freescale Semiconductor
Session Title:Overview of Computer and Machine Vision
As processors get more powerful and less expensive, new methods of interacting with computers become possible. In this hands-on demonstration, we will work with common computer vision algorithms like Sobel, Prewitt and Laplace to understand how they work, and how they can be used in a WinCE® environment. Demonstrations will include robots and object tracking.
Track: Consumer
Market Segment: Sensors
Architectures: 32-Bit Microcontrollers: i.MX Application Processors, Linux
General Technologies: Imaging
Session Level:Basic
Session Type:Lecture

Me, Mike, Kevin, and Derek.

We do plan on running the class in multiple cities next year.  If you can attend one, let's get together in advance. I would like to promote some of your stuff in a class. Maybe you can do some demos.

Gentlemen,

Would love it. Let me know when you are doing the Boston area. Figuring it would be in Nov at least we can have camera systems mounted on CUBE-BEC. We will be showing the chassis 1st of Nov. in Austin at the headquarters.

Mark,  do you think we could get 15 to 30 customers in a sensor/robotics class?

We want to have a class in Boston.

We are doing the first class in Chicago next week.  The class is 4 hours ( maybe a whole day ) hands-on.
