On the FAQ it says that users will not know that our site is using
RobotReplay.

It is not entirly true. If they read the source of the page, they
will see the javascript file, won't they?

ALSO, I found out that my browser's status bar kept flashing with
"connecting to robotreplay.com" when I was moving my mouse around.
That is also giving away the fact that we use robot reply, right?
That one is even more obvious as they do not have to read the source.
That might not occur on all browser. I was using FF 3 on Windows.

Am I missing something?

There's no announcement on the part of RobotReplay that you're using
the systems - unless you have a very technical audience, the vast
majority of users will not be looking at the page's source, nor will
they pay too much attention to which servers the browser is accessing.
There's no reason why most users would notice that your site is using
RobotReplay, in the same way that most users don't notice whether a
site uses Google Analytics, for example.

That said, RobotReplay is not designed to hide its execution from the
user or the browser. That note in the FAQ simply points out that the
software does not explicit announce itself to the user, and that you
can run it on your site without telling users that they're
participating in a user interaction study, requiring them to install
additional software, or having them sign up to the service. It's
designed to be unobtrusive, so that the user experience recorded is as
useful as possible for the site's developer.

Thanks,
Andrew
