WiFi on Pandaboard with Ubuntu Raring (13.04)

I just spent the last week getting WiFi up and working on my pandaboard running Ubuntu 13.04. From what I can tell, there’s either a bug in the 3.5.0 wl12xx driver or a mismatch between the driver and the linux-firmware package.

Hopefully this can help someone else who is struggling with WiFi issues on the latest versions of Ubuntu.
