I have a number of legacy projects that currently are using PureMVC and I am planning to migrate to RobotLegs. I have done this in the past with RL 1.x but am eager to make the move to RL2. What would you guys say the production-readiness is of RL2? If it is not rock-solid stable yet, do you have an ETA on when it might be?

Hi Nick,

there's a fork in Swiftsuspenders that Till and I are going to merge when we meet in the 1st week of October. Assuming that goes well, we should be at official Beta then or within a week of then.

You can go ahead and start the process now though - there are only minor changes coming up.

If you read the notes on the Swiftsuspenders fork (should be pretty obvious) you'll get an idea of what will change. The current behaviour isn't a bug, but an incorrectly specified feature (it seemed like a good idea at the time but has problemmatic repercussions). I'm already using RL2 in production code that incorporates that fork, and the changes between the two are mostly minor and shouldn't be hard to merge in to your project.

Stray, could you please point me to this fork? Is it this one: https://github.com/tschneidereit/robotlegs/tree/swiftsuspenders2-tryout ?

Thanks!

Hi Joni,

My fork with the changes to swiftsuspenders that will likely be merged (possibly with alterations) when Till and I meet in October:

The robotlegs fork that uses this swiftsuspenders build is this one:

However, there are features and fixes in the current version2 fork (of robotlegs) that haven't yet been merged on to the swiftsuspendersFallbackProviders fork:

I'm expecting all this to be resolved between the 1st and 4th of October - but the notes and commit messages should give you a pretty clear idea of what's going on.

hth,

Stray
