Hi Guys,

I have been considering writing a Haxe port of RobotLegs 2.0. The plan is for me to follow the API closely as possible at first then make any improvements later that the Haxe language supports such as generics, typed functions and macros.

So would you say that RL2 is in a sufficiently stable form now for me to go ahead and do so?

Hi Mike,

I'd say it's worth holding off for 2 or 3 weeks - there are still a few bits of API that are changing / under discussion. I've done some updates to the lifecycle approach and mediatorMap, which still need to be reviewed, and I know Shaun is rejigging some core stuff.

We'll be happy to help you with this when you do get started - I just know that we're in a really dynamic spot where a few key things should get settled one way or the other pretty soon - as we've thrashed out all the alternatives.

Cheers,

Stray

Hi Stray,

Sounds good, ill hang off for a few weeks then and try to grok the code base a little more. Absolutely love the way you have documented each folder level on GitHub BTW, really makes it nice and clear about the structure and how the various parts are designed to fit together, nice work!

Just wondered if you had given thought to the DI Container?

@Michael - yes, sorry you :)

What DI container will you use for the port?

Not sure yet, there are a few implementations about ill probably look at those and look at some of the recent advances in Haxe and see if there is a better way to do things ;)

Ta Mike - yes, the per-folder ReadMe was Shaun's idea and I have to say I *love* it.

Ye its great :) The only thing I would say is at the top level it would be nice if there was almost like a "Recommended reading path" or something. So start here then check out the core package then look at the extensions etc.

Perhaps that's better left for a "Getting Started" guide or something.

Good idea. I'll take a look at that while I'm spring cleaning.
