Hello friends, I need to let you guys know about meetings for the next 3 weeks. First of all, our meetings are still at our LS Building Lab, Room 5926. Our regular Project Meetings will still be on Fridays, starting this Friday, at 4 pm. You are welcome to come anytime after 4 pm so we can work on projects hosted by our club.
I am also making the lab available everyday until after RoboGames is over at 6 pm, so that we can work on RoboMagellan everyday until we get it working. Sometimes I am at the lab before 6, so feel free to send me a text if you want to come to the lab before 6. My number is 760-805-6232 if you need to text me.
About elections: we have decided to hold elections after RoboGames (we'll be at RoboGames on April 21 - 22). Please be thinking about what positions you want to run for. All the usual officer positions for a club are available, and I will give you a list of those positions next week. You will be allowed to run for as many positions as you want, and we'll work things out on election day if any glitches occur (this isn't my first rodeo, so I'll be able to handle things if things get out of hand). I will have the final format ready sometime in the middle of next week, so you guys can prepare.
Lastly, we have finalized all preparations for RoboGames, so the only guys that are coming are those I told that they are coming. Sorry I can't be any more accommodating, since the hotel needs to be booked ahead of time for the discount rate. Remember, there is always next year, and it helps if we help each other get more funding sources, which is the number one thing we need to work on after RoboGames.
We are a small club, but if you think about it, if our club remains the same size as this year, but we score lots of grants and corporate donations, that means that the club will be more valuable per individual member, which will make our club that much cooler, and will attract more members passively that way. Or, you can be greedy and have the awesomeness to yourselves. Either way, for the next president, I will emphasize that funding be a top priority for our club. This is my little rant, take it or leave it :P
