I just want to know more about the group, interests, location, etc..

I'm from Cali, Colombia. Universidad del Valle. Interest areas:
Computer vision, path planning, AI, Human-Robot interaction.

I also think it's a good idea :)

I'm from Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and I'm finishing my degree in
Computer Science at the University of Málaga.

I'm interested in robotics in general, in control and behavior
programming, and also in swarming (although I am a total noob in some
of this subjects :P).

I'm interested too in improving my written English, so if any of you
see any mistake in my messages feel free to correct me. I'll be
grateful :)

Cheers!
Miguel.

Your English is impeccable so far Miguel!

I'm in England, working in virtual reality and 3D terrain and mapping.
I've a passing interest in almost all aspects of computing, but
currently GIS and mapping applications are my strong-point, although I
was a games programmer for nearly 10 years.

I'd also like to create a swarm of quadrocopters to do my bidding!

I'm from Houston, Texas, USA. While I was at university I worked on a team that participated in both DARPA Grand Challenges and the DARPA Urban Challenge. I focused on sensors and not the intelligence of the vehicle. I'm interested in robotics as a hobby and learning what I can.

I currently live in Montero, Santa Cruz, Bolivia but my Spanish isn't so hot...I've only been down here for a year, and apparently I'm not good at learning languages.

Before that I was a software engineer at Boeing in St. Louis, Missouri.  I worked in the test&development flight simulator.

I'm especially interested in stereo computer vision.

I'm from Los Angeles, CA. I have a background in pure math and I'm just now getting into more applied topics. I'm pretty new at implementing all this. I'm good with the concepts though.

For this group, I won't be able to do any heavy lifting of sorts, but I will help out where ever I can.

Hi all,

I'm in Grenoble, France.

I'm interested in machine learning, statistical translation (my day
job) as well as computer vision and drones.

Cheers

Hi everyone!

I'm Daniel Perea Ström, from Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). I'm
currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Robotics, and I'm working actually on
the Verdino robotic car project ( http://verdino.isaatc.ull.es ) at
Universidad de La Laguna. We have been porting our codebase to ROS
through the last year, and now we are making good progress on
navigation in dynamic and unstructured environments.

I'm looking forward to share ideas and experiences in this group :)

Cheers,

Daniel.

Hi all!

Just joined the group.
I'm Finley from Indonesia. Currently working on my thesis about quadrotor control with ROS framework.
I'm new with ROS, so I hope I can learn from all of you.

I'm Tim Craig, a retired engineer living in San Jose, California.  I'm interested in computer vision, control, and robotics.  I've been a member of the Homebrew Robotics Club of Silicon Valley for a number of years and currently honcho our Floorbot Challenge.  I've been building a robot, Brutus, for about the last year which will be running ROS.  The obligatory web pages are:

I am a retired engineer doing doctoral work on robotics navigation.
I am in Cadiz (Spain).
I am interested in this group. I`ve been installing and preparing things to work with ROS.
I've come back to the Sebastian classes to review the code and adapt it for using with ROS, when I've found this group.
Ubuntu 11.10 with ROS electric are the versions that are working better for me.
I've tried Player/Stage and now I'm seeing how to write Python code to control the simulation on Player/Stage.
Are there anybody in similar situation?
Glad to join all of you guys.
