Hi,

I am not able to capture IDs of Flash/Flex components which are
embedded in the browser, because of which I am not able to click or do
any operations on the Flash/Flex components.

Please let me know is there any way to automate Flash/Flex in
Robotframework.

Thanks,
Karthik

2009/1/27 karthik <karthik...@gmail.com>:

We don't have any library that supports Flash/Flex so currently
testing them isn't possible. I googled what Flash/Flex testing tools
there are and noticed that there's an extension to Selenium that could
possibly be used:

http://code.google.com/p/flash-selenium/

It would be cool if someone could try out how easy or hard integrating
that to the SeleniumLibrary would be. Or does someone else have other
tools in mind that could be used for testing Flash/Flex? The core
development team doesn't have time to investigate this much in the
near future. Our very limited resources are currently targeted to
RIDE, SwingLibrary and hopefully soon to RF 2.1 too.

Cheers,
.peke

Hi,

I downloaded RobotFramework a few days ago and did some research if
and how easily we could use this automation framework together with
our functional testing tool SilkTest (http://www.borland.com). For
SilkTest we released an Eclipse plug-in end of last year and this
plugin allows you the creation of scripts using Java and our new Open
Agent technology. The Open Agent technology supports different, we
call them TechDomains, like xBrowser, SWT, Win32, WPF and also Flex.
It just took me an hour after installation of RobotFramework to mark
my existing Silk4J Java methods as Robot keywords (by the way: I used
the Annotation library approach to create my dynamic Silk4J test
library) and run my Silk4J testcase using RobotFramework. So
RobotFramework is the automation framework and Silk4J the test driver.

So this probably could be a way to go.

best regards
Didi

Hi!

I have downloaded the SilkTest application and the Robot Framework.
Is there any tutorials describing how to use SilkTest (with Eclipse?)
to automate test for a WPF application?
And do you have any tutorials or descriptions on how you integrated
with the RF?

We are testing different tools to automate acceptance testing when we
develop our WPF application, and it would be greate if SilkTest
supports both WPF and RF.

Best regards

Hi Rune,

After you have installed SilkTest 2008 R2, which also includes Silk4J
(Eclipse Plugin), you should find an Eclipse Project in following
directory: "<SilkTest_Home_Dir>\ng\samples\dotnet\WPF Calc (Silk4J)".
This should work out of the box if you have .NET 3.5 installed and it
will use a WPF Calculator sample, which is shipped with the product.

Regarding tutorial, please have a look at <SilkTest Home>\ng\samples
\java\SWT\Eclipse (Silk4J)\Silk4J_AdvancedUserGuide_en.pdf. Further
information can also be found in the Eclipse Help atfer installation
of SIlk4J.

We will also contact you directly by email to help with some further
questions.

Hope, this helps :=)

best regards
Didi
