Hi all,
Robot Framework 7.2 is a feature release with JSON output support,
GROUP syntax for grouping keywords and control structures, new Libdoc
technology including translations, enhancements for working with
bytes, and various other features and fixes. To learn about everything
that's new, fixed or enhanced, see the release notes:
https://github.com/robotframework/robotframework/blob/master/doc/releasenotes/rf-7.2.rst
Robot Framework development is sponsored by the Robot Framework
Foundation <
https://robotframework.org/foundation> and its over 60
member organizations. If your organization is using Robot Framework
and benefiting from it, consider joining the foundation to support its
development as well. Big thanks to the foundation for their support,
to community members who provided code and documentation
contributions, and to everyone else who has tested preview releases,
submitted bug reports, proposed enhancements, debugged problems, or
otherwise helped with Robot Framework 7.2 development.
Now that Robot Framework 7.2 is out, it is time to start thinking
about Robot Framework 7.3. We use the #roadmap channel on our Slack,
and I already sent information about the first steps there yesterday.
Join that channel if there are features you'd especially like to see
in RF 7.3 or if you are just interested in the plans in general. If
you are interested to help with the development, join also the #devel
channel.
RoboCon 2025, our annual conference, is getting closer. In my RoboCon
2025 keynote I will talk about new enhancements to Robot Framework
itself (RF 7.1 and RF 7.2), but I will also cover what's new and
enhanced in the wider Robot Framework ecosystem. If you have made
contributions to the ecosystem since RoboCon 2024, let me know about
them by filling the very short form at
https://forms.gle/Ezb2aRh58a1iyqjH9. All contributions will be listed
in the keynote and major enhancements will be covered in more detail.
As a token of appreciation, first 20 valid submissions also get a free
RoboCon Online ticket either to 2025 or 2026.
Cheers,
.peke
