Passing Suite Setup as an Command Line argument

Hi Team,

I have a query on this.

How to include and exclude Suite setup dynamically bases on tags.

Scenario:

We have many number of test suites within a folder and each test suite has a suite setup. There are two tags we have. Tag1 is present only in some test cases whereas Tag2 is present in most of the cases. We are running from the root directory.

Requirement:

 1)If we want to run only Tag1, Suite Setup has to be run only at the start of execution and to be excluded in TestSuite execution

2)If we want to run only Tag2, Suite Setup has to be called in each test suite(normal behaviour).

Please help us here.

Hi

One possible solution is prerunmodifier.

We can pass an variable to robot command line ,e.g -v SUITE_TAG:tag1, the prerunmodifier could remove suite setup keywords according to the value of SUITE_TAG.
