Hi contestants,
I have a few announcements for you:

  1.  Today and tomorrow there will be many visitors watching you and your robots.  There will be many kids there, including my kids.  I request that you watch your language when working on your robot and testing around the competition field.  I would like this to be a pleasant environment for everyone attending.

  2.  You can request to do a qualification run any time today before I leave campus (around 10pm).  I will send out a Google Doc where you can follow the tournament bracket and qualification scores.  No teams have run a qualification run.  Even scoring a 1 point qualification run is better than having no qualification runs.

  3.  I will bring several pairs of safety glasses.  If you have some, please bring them as well.

  4.  I have not seen all robots run, but if your robot operates in a manner that is potentially damaging to the course, you will need to modify the speed or manner in which your robot runs.

  5.  Tonight, I will check robot dimensions and firing velocity.

  6.  In the interest of time during the competition, if robot has clearly won a match (or if neither robot is clearly making progress), the match will end.

  7.  You can test in the EE building until 5pm today.  We will move the course and set it up in the Rec. Center as fast as we can and you can test there until 9:30am Saturday.  The competition starts at 10am Saturday.

I look forward to seeing everyone's robot today!
