Database behaviour strange on P

If I change my sdk from O_MR1 to P all of my database tests start to fail. My setup is somewhat complex as

I pre-load an existing sqlite db with table content. This always works just fine and serves well as test data.

But when switching to P all data seems to be missing resulting in tests failing.

I'm on the latest 4.3 as well as latest androidx.
