Hi folks,

I've just known about RoboGuice 2.0 and would like to start using it,
unfortunately the Tutorial section at project home page is not complete, only few topics
are available. Is something wrong with my browser or what ?
Where can I find a complete documentation ?

Thanks.

No, there is nothing wrong with your browser. I don't think anyone on the team has had time to update the documentation. I do know that its on the docket to get tackled soon as some good documentation would be great.

While it's great that there's such an awesome toolset out there like RoboGuice, surely a basic thing like installation instructions should be pretty high on the priority list.

I tried setting it up today only to find that 'RoboApplication' doesn't even exist anymore, and this is mentioned basically as step one in setting it up. I was lucky to find this link that explained how to set it up: http://marcuswelz.com/2012/01/08/android-getting-started-with-roboguice-2-0-beta-3/comment-page-1/#comment-64542

Sorry to be blunt, but there's not a lot of point in a library even existing if your users can't set it up.

Agreed. This is something that needs a lot of work at this time.

It is really not that bad though. There is some documentation on the site.

http://code.google.com/p/roboguice/wiki/SimpleExample

and a few more pages on wiki. Also importantly the astroboy example is
well documented and a good example. Mike also did a presentation at
AnDevCon with a good example app and slides that are available.

But yeah.. sure we could use some help. Care to write on the wiki and
clean it up for us? It is all open source and we would love to get
some help.

Sadly, it is that bad.

Much of the detailed documentation is about the previous release. This is not at all obvious until you are wading through it trying to diagnose an error...

It's really not as bad as it seems if you start from 1.x.  I found this page to be helpful for migrating to 2.0.

The main problem with RoboGuice at this point is performance; and for the most part it's that Guice is very slow at startup.  If you start really using DI heavily, you can see app startup delays of many seconds.

Fortunately there are some recently released alternatives that use code generation for nearly instantaneous startup.

Can we helpt to improve the Documentation and the library? Maybe with money?
Why don't you setup a PayPal donation or something like that?

I really like Guice and RoboGuice but it needs better documentation and better performance.

AND!!! thx for all the work you did until now!

So things are happening now... really what is most needed is people
writing and helping. I am sure you could e.g. start a FAQ or something
on the wiki that is now on github and even if it is just the questions
for starters..

There is also a lot you can pick up from the code, javadoc and the
example app astroboy as well as the calculator that Michael demoes at
AnDevCon (its here https://github.com/mosabua/roboguice-calculator)
but I am not sure it is working at this stage..

You can use http://roboguice.googlecode.com/hg/roboguice/docs/apidocs/index.html for more information, but the problem are the deprecated I wanted to use Ln but it say Deprecated but nothing about what we should use instead

You can still use Ln. I think the deprecated section is a bit confusing. We need to clean it up.

There are not more differences between RoboGuice 2.0 and the previous version. You can find the RoboGuice Tutorials in my blog. They may help you in times. :)

There are very less results for RoboGuice Tutorials even on Google. Out of these tutorials there are hardly illustrating pages! Can some provide me the links of videos that can help me get more about RoboGuice? Thanks in advance.
