I am running the latest version of the Arduino IDE 0018, I followed
the steps in getting started. I tried to upload the latest downloaded
pypose and got the following error:

Yikes! Invalid device signature
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override this
check.

I compiled a very simple Arduino program that simply does a dely loop,
to make sure it wasn't something with pypose. I got the same
results. I am using the FTDI Basic Breakout - 5V from Trossen
Robotics and I setup the jumper for the 5v to power off the USB, just
to do some initial testing - no AX-12+s hooked up yet.

I am using Ubuntu Linux on my netbook, I did the package load and it
seems like the FTDI drivers are in place, I was able to communicate
with the USB Arduino Duemilanove without any trouble, the led on the
FTDI breakout board was showing transfer and I saw the user led on the
back end of the Arbotix flashing while the upload was going on.

Any thoughts, I was browsing around at the boards.txt and
programmer.txt from the comments it would appear that the default is
using the FTDI.

Any thoughts - wanted to use these AX-12+s, of course I will be
ordering up a batter pack pushing the 11.1V from Matt over at Trossen
so I can actually run those.

Thanks

Chuck,

I believe the FTDI drivers are actually now standard as of around
Ubuntu 8.10. The fact that the LEDs are blinking means they're
probably working, and also that you've got the right port selected.

You've selected "ArbotiX" in the "Tools | Board " menu, right?
