Hi all,

we decided to migrate to git. The idea is that branching and forking
is much easier on github, so the community will have more fun.

- Migrated both robocode and codesize projects.
https://github.com/robo-code/robocode
https://github.com/robo-code/codesize
- it includes full history
- It includes all tags and working branches.
- I mapped all user names to email adresses as usual in git
- I hidden the svn repository on google code and deleted the project
folders from root. Of course they could be recovered from history or
backup.
- backup of svn repository is here http://ane-kolin.cz/zamboch/robocode.zip
- added README.md markdown for nice github homepage

We accept pull requests :-D, so please create readme you like and contrib.
(I'm mostly interested to try if that works)

Regarding robocode branches, most of them are already merged to master
and should be deleted.
Flemming, do you know which ones we should keep ?

First of all, I give a big thumbs up for your great work Pavel. :-D
Everything seems to be set up perfectly on GitHub. I guess it was a struggle to get just right? :-)

Regarding the question for me regarding which branches to keep...

This one must be kept, as this could be version 1.8.0 of Robocode (next generation):
- precise-robot-turn-time (where spend robot cpu time is measured in parallel)
(I tend to make an experimental version for the community to try out, as this has a big impact on the game engine)

This one would be nice to keep as it contains some good code that might be useful in the future:
- custom-battlefields2-workspace - however, it will still be as (deleted) branch on Google Code, so we can get it here

I guess the rest can be deleted as it is not used, already merged, or has been deprecated (too old) for a long time.

Cheers,
- Flemming

Old branches are deleted now. I left few more which could still have
something interesting in it.

Thanks. RoboCode looks like a lot a fun. I've just started exploring Robocodea dn I'd like to build some tanks. I'm kind of new to Java and I've been using the RoboWiki. Would it be possible to update this to reflect the migration to git. Particularly the loadTools.cmd which still points to the old http site.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Mazzo, :-)

It is work in progress. I am working on the new Developers Guide for building Robocode, which needs a major update for more than "just" getting the sources.
So please be patient. I work on Robocode in the "idle time" of my spare time. ;-)

The old Developers Guide is still valid when it comes to building Robocode. The only difference is the location of the sources, and that TortoiseGit is used instead of TortoiseSVN (or "just" direct GitHub) and EGit is used instead of Subclipse and/or Subversive (with SVNKit).

I will update the tools for building Robocode as well, including loadTools etc.

Cheers,
- Flemming
