ok, I have migrated the contents of C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy to the thawed partition created by deep freeze. then created a symlink with 'mklink /D C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy F:\spotlight'.

when faronics is in its thawed state it works after rebooting thawed twice. but as soon as I boot back frozen it goes back to the original cave picture (you know the one im talking about lol). hopefully there is someone here that knows what is going on because I thought creating the symlink to the spotlight folder would have been enough but it is not and I am out of ideas. everything that has to do with spotlight in registry LOOKS OK, so I would guess it is something that deep freeze is doing to some core files possibly. any help would be appreciated. thanks for reading.

with faronics data igloo, you can specify a registry key to keep thawed, but it only lets you choose hklm and none others. I have exhausted myself trying to figure this out and am tired of trying and would like for it to just work. lol. the sad part is, I think no matter if you create a task to export a reg key periodically while logged on, and create another task to import said registry key on startup... the changes don't take place fast enough I do not think... so its all for nothing I think, but im not sure though, and I don't know what else to do. lol. please help me from pulling the rest of my hair out ;(

Deep Freeze Standard is a computer restore software that can protect your Windows PCs from unwanted changes and malware. It can freeze your system to a desired state and restore it with a simple reboot. It can also create virtual partitions to retain important data and prevent unauthorized software installation.

i am working with services using C#, and for some stuff i need to get deepfreeze state of the station (frozen or thawed), for this found this on Faronic's documentation , when i use the following command in command prompt : C:\WINDOWS\syswow64\DFC.exe get /ISFROZEN it works and returns "THAWED." or "FROZEN." so i decided in my C# program to run a command prompt and redirect the Standard output to get the result of the command into a string variable , but it has not worked, i tried with any other commands and it works , i do not understand where is the problem.there is the DFC.exe download link if it does not exists ( complete the captcha and click to download)It is my third day on it so i need help .. thank's for everyone , there is sample code :

Wow, that's a bummer about the support. I used a trial in the past, but noticed it was not compatible with Win10 for a while. Then they updated to 8.30, which was compatible for a short time, then the Win10 creators update happened and it lost all compatibility (BSOD randomly happening due to a key component in Faronics). The crashed happened even while thawed. Supposedly version 8.37 (current) fixes everything. Would support include downloading updates that might be released within that year of time? And if out of that time frame, I'd have to pay for a new version?

I probably don't need support from their people regarding the use of the program. I've only ever needed it for the reason below:

I use a plotter program that creates a permanent settings file (even after a format/reinstall, it's still recognized, only DBAN has ever killed it) My machine has HPGL/GPGL built in, but the program overrides the machine so that it can only use 1 of these settings. If I visit :1130 I can see the status, but there's no way to change any of the settings. Deep Freeze has helped me with this issue. I freeze the PC, install my program and choose 1 of the 2 settings, and use it as normal. I reboot, the program is uninstalled and so is that annoying settings file. If I have to use the other setting, I'll be free to do so with a simple reinstall after a reboot.

If Reboot Restore can help me with this issue as a free alternative, I might be interested
