TraditionallySudarshana Churna is used in the treatment of fever originating from all the three doshas, chronic fever. It is one of the widely used Ayurvedic medicine for fever.
It is also good for liver, spleen.
Can this Churna be given to children on a daily basis?
If you are intending to give it for improving immunity, this product might not be suitable for daily usage for long term. Something like Chyawanprash looks like a better choice.
It is the tablet prepared from the same ingredients.
Dose of the tablet is 1-2 tablets 2-3 times in a day, before or after food. The shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacturing.
Have to admit that nothing as strong ac mycins and cillins exist in Ayurveda. however, neem, Kiratatikta, Patola, Guduchi, Gokshura, Kantakari, garlic, Cinnamon, Clove are a few potent antibacterial herbs. (not a complete list).

Various factors like body, constitution, age, gastric fire, morbid tendency the treatment is based. Do consult a physician for the treatment and dietary plan.
The change from winter to spring is marked by so many beautiful things: blooming flowers, new leaves and the melodious voice of the koyel every morning. However, one not-so-beautiful thing that is commonly noticed in every other household during the seasonal change is people falling sick due to fever and the common cold. According to Ayurvedic scriptures, the preliminary causative factor behind the sudden rise of fever in some people has depreciated Kapha and Vata Doshas which are responsible for maintaining the respiratory and gastrointestinal functioning in the body and uplifting immunity respectively. Hence, abnormal Doshas lead to a poor balance of ojas (immunity) in the body, making the person prone to the common cold virus.
Well, home remedies and herbal kadhas do boost your immunity significantly, but if you prefer a surer shot at dealing with these seasonal flu and infections, then Ayurveda brings you a selectively curated formulation of immune-boosting herbs in the form of a spectacular remedy known as Maha Sudarshan Vati.
Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati is chiefly formulated from Mahasudarshan Churna and is mainly indicated as an antipyretic medicine in Ayurveda. It is extremely beneficial for lowering the fever due to several anomalies like the common cold, malaria, influenza, typhoid, depreciated Pitta etc. It also portrays carminative and digestive qualities and is deemed a powerful digestive tonic. Not only does it enhance appetite and treat indigestion but also treats acidity, GERD, flatulence, abdominal pain and heaviness occurring during fever. It is also useful for treating mild headaches and body pains associated with fever. Additionally, it also helps to clear the bowel easily, thereby managing constipation while also inducing complete evacuation of the bowel.
This extraordinary formulation has been used for treating fever and various other bodily problems for ages and is mentioned in several Ayurvedic scriptures like Sarangadhar Samhita, Raj Nighantu, Charaka Samhita, Susruta Samhita, etc for the following indications:
Enriched with potentially strong analgesic, antipyretic and temperature-reducing traits, Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati is notable in managing and treating different types of fever. The anti-pruritic nature of the herbs used not only lessens the body temperature and treats intermittent and high fever but is also useful against fever ensuing from the common cold, flu and typhoid.
The potent anti-parasitic action of Triphala and Ativisha used here hinders the growth of the malarial parasite right at the ring stage and hence wards off the aggravation of the infection. When used alongside ayurvedic formulations like Amritarishta, Laxmi Narayan Ras, Sheetbhanji Ras, Praval Pishti, Kasish Godanti Bhasma, Tulsi, and Mrityunjay Ras, it delivers an ultimate remedial action against the malarial parasite.
Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati displays strong anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties owing to the presence of various bioactive constituents. Regular usage of this formulation not only impedes the replication of the influenza virus but also effectively diminishes the action of the inflammatory mediators responsible for the inflammation of the lungs.
A sore, inflamed throat is one of the most typical indications associated with fever and the common cold. Prescribed doses of Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati, enormously reduce irritation, throat pain, and cough associated with a sore throat. It is also extremely beneficial to remove white deposition on the throat and tongue or when it becomes itchy and has no burning sensation.
Powered with dominant antimicrobial, anti-bacterial, and antiseptic traits, this incredible herbal tablet plays a pivotal role to ward off various infectious conditions. The bio-active ingredients of the aromatic herbs in use work magically in sync to uplift immunity and hinder bacterial infestation. It not only helps to ameliorate the risk of various viral and fungal infections like fever, tuberculosis, dengue, etc. but also wards off several skin allergies.
Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati is a potent one-shot remedy for dealing with Pandu Roga or iron deficiency anaemia that ensues due to the imbalance of Pitta doshas. Additionally, it holds high importance for the treatment and management of the various symptoms associated with anaemia like general fatigue, yellow discolouration of the skin or jaundice, physical debility, shortness of breath, swelling, headaches, dizziness, vertigo, and sluggishness. In people suffering from chronic anaemia, the pulse rate and heartbeat become rapid and irregular. Prescribed intake of this tablet along with Arjuna powder helps subside the symptoms of anaemia and promotes the overall functioning of the heart.
Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati is a conventional remedy for treating a wide range of gastrointestinal disturbances like heartburn, diarrhoea, flatulence, peptic ulcer, esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, indigestion, constipation, flatulence and stomach pain. The carminative nature of triphala used here helps in detonating the ingested food particles in the stomach and intestine, stimulating the secretion of the digestive juices and thereby boosting the absorption of essential nutrients through the intestines. It also readily helps to eradicate abdominal gas and in turn lessens abdominal distension, bloating and gaseous cramps.
The extensive cardio tonic quality of the herbs present in Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati plays a vital role in dealing with a host of heart disorders. It extensively calms the cardiac system, by comforting the mind, which is exceptionally helpful for patients suffering from arrhythmias and palpitations. It also holds high significance in strengthening the heart muscles, decreasing the cholesterol levels in the blood and impeding lipid accumulation, which in turn tones down the prevalence of heart anomalies like atherosclerosis, blood clots, heart attacks, heart blocks, etc.
The bioactive elements of the herbs present in this formulation act as Tridosha ha ha and actively specify all three Doshas; namely, the Kapha (earth and water) doshas, Vata (air) doshas and the Pitta (fire and air) doshas. Depending upon the innate traits and doshas, Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati has an optimistic effect on the lungs, stomach, liver, and respiratory tract.
Replete with several immunity-boosting herbs, Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati is effective in prescribed doses. But it might give a bitter aftertaste in the mouth and might cause nausea and vomiting if taken in excess.
Although it is considered safe for use during pregnancy and the lactation period, without proper credible knowledge of the effects of the various herbs used in it during pregnancy or the lactation period, it is strictly suggested that pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should consult their treating doctor beforehand.
This spectacular immune-boosting traditional Vati enriched with a plethora of natural herbs has numerous health incentives. Be it subsiding fever, treating cough and cold, preventing asthma, boosting immunity, delivering relief from sore throat and sinusitis, enhancing digestion, or deterring constipation, gastritis, or piles Mahasudarshan Ghan Vati does it all. Consume this powerful ayurvedic tablet during the flu season to defend the body from various infectious diseases.

One of the most difficult challenges for any prescriber is distinguishing between the legitimate prescription of controlled substances versus the prescription potentially used for illegitimate purposes. To discern the difference, prescribers need to recognize the signs, symptoms, and treatment of acute and chronic pain and the signs and symptoms of patients misusing controlled substances. This activity assists interprofessional team members by helping develop an awareness of appropriate dosing and substance control and recognizing patients that may be abusing these drugs for non-legitimate purposes.
