The mission of the Colorado Youth Climate Summit is to create engaging opportunities for rural Colorado youth to become empowered as climate action leaders and advocates statewide. It is a youth driven program that ensures students are deeply involved in every aspect of the program, including summit design, planning, and implementation.
This initiative will give youth a head-start to earning their Colorado Seal of Climate Literacy upon graduation. All who participate will expand their knowledge and understanding of relevant local and regional collective climate solutions they can address through their own unique climate action plans (CAPs). These CAPs will become projects they will work on and complete throughout the coming year.
Currently we are taking applications for the Youth Summit Leader Team. This small group of youth and young adults age 16+, college interns, and adult advisers. This energetic dedicated team convenes in person for a leadership development Saturday on October 26th, followed by virtual meetings every three weeks leading up to the Summit which is held May 2-3, 2025. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, September 17, 2024
Take Action to Get Involved
Invite motivated passionate young people 16 and older to apply to serve on the Youth Summit Leader Team, as well as adults interested in serving as advisors; Sept 17 deadline.
Invite all interested young people (high school and young adults), educators, and community leaders to complete the Summit Interest Form as a means to joining our list to be alerted when Summit registration opens and related opportunities.
