Hello Educators and Friends,
A national climate change education learning opportunity is available to YOU wherever you may be: the
Summer Institute for Climate Change Education with Climate Generation; July 18, 19, and 21st.
This inspiring, rejuvenating virtual learning experience brings together experts and leaders in climate communication, observation and data, justice and equity, and education for all educators (interdisciplinary, multi-grade, non-formal, formal, higher education, etc.). AND there are sizeable
scholarships still available!
Wild Rose Education is leading the Southwestern regional cohort for this Institute and includes all the states of the Colorado River Basin (except California). A few highlights from our July 21st virtual day include:
- Engaging with the Intermountain West Climate Dashboard through inquiry practices you can utilize with learners
- A field experience - yes, you'll have to go outside and observe your world and collect data using your smartphone to share
- Practice utilizing NOAA's Climate Explorer to better understand environmental justice issues and solutions for your community
- Explore how a 'just transition' might look in the intermountain and southwest regions.
Hope you will
register today with a friend or colleague and come ready to meet new folks.
Take good care,
Sarah R. Johnson
