Real-Time Science: Arctic Ocean Expedition

You and your learners (audiences of all ages) are encouraged to join Sarah R. Johnson, environmental education specialist at Wild Rose Education in Carbondale, Colorado and International Arctic Buoy Program PolarTREC educator alongside her Arctic Ocean expedition in late March 2022 to learn how scientists collect weather, climate, and sea ice data amidst the frigid Arctic challenges.

She will share real-time updates from the March 27-April 8 IABP AK Spring 22 Deployment off the coast of Utqiaġvik, Alaska via the PolarTREC Virtual Base Camp as well as her blog Arctic Ruminations. Everyone is encouraged to read the real-time updates and post questions and comments that Sarah will then respond to. Also, during the first week of April everyone is invited to participate in a live-stream PolarConnect event to meet the scientists at the Arctic Ocean on the sea ice. Be sure to sign up to receive the journal and blog posts (links above) in your email to get all the details.

Collaborators include the International Arctic Buoy Programme, National Science Foundation, University of Washington Polar Science Center, Office of Naval Research International Cooperative Engagement Program for Polar Research (ICE-PPR), University of Maryland, ARCUS PolarTREC, Float Your Boat, and Wild Rose Education

Follow my team's expedition March 27-April 8th at www.WildRoseEducation.com/Arctic  :-)
Take good care,
Sarah
