Upcoming Pride Events 8/19/09

Hello Everyone,

Our next big event is the Roanoke Pride Pageants on Saturday, August
22 at the Shaftman Auditorium at 7PM. Cash Bar is from 6-6:30 provided
by the Jefferson Center. Doors open at 6:30. It is general admission.
so get there early for great seats. Tickets can be purchased through
the website and are cheaper that way. Visit www.roanokepride.com

In the days leading up to Pride we'll be screening movies at MCC of
the Blue Ridge. We'll be doing a pre-Stonewall film, a film focusing
on the days of Stonewall, and a post-Stonewall film. More details will
be forthcoming.

We're also doing a Community Service Day on September 19 to lead into
Pride on the 20th. We will be working with Habitat for Humanity,
Roanoke Parks and Rec, and either TAP or the Drop In Center. Sign ups
will start Sept.1.

Of course Pride is Sept. 20. It's our 20th anniversary of Roanoke
Pride, so come out and help us make it the biggest Pride yet.

We will also be having our Dinner/Auction on October 17 at St. John's
Episcopal Church. This event is the major fundraiser for Pride. The
money we make there helps us put on the next pride. The food is great
and the auction items are great values. Come help us keep Pride free.
