Upcoming Pride Events 9/9/9

Hello all,

Wes was kind enough to post the schedule for the weekend of Pride.
We're going to be busy! Come out to any of the events you can make it
to and celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pride in Roanoke. We're also
celebrating The Park's 30th anniversary, so come to the kick-off party
there to support them.

I do want to put out a special plug for the day of community service
on 9/19. The sign ups are happening at www.roanokepride.com so sign up
and give a few hours of your time if you can. Service is just as
important as money to these organizations, so if you can't afford to
give a monetary donation in this economy, give of yourself. It will be
appreciated.

I also wanted to correct my post of 8/19. I posted the wrong date for
the dinner/auction. It will be held 10/24 at St. John's not 10/17.
We're also collecting donations of items to auction off. So if you're
an artist or tradesperson and want to donate goods or services just
let us know. If you're not gifted in that way, but you have some items
in good condition that you've been planning to donate to charity,
we're interested. Furniture, craft items, anything you think someone
will buy would be appreciated. Remember, the dinner/auction proceeds
help fund the next year's Pride! Tickets for the event are available
on the website.
