Late migrating Ruby-throated Hummingbirds

I was wondering if anyone is still seeing hummingbirds in their yard or elsewhere? My last one left sometime Monday, Oct.12 - the latest I've ever had one stay. It's also the first time I've had a Ruby-throat here to enjoy the bright red, tubular flowers of the pineapple sage, which always blooms so late. Barry Kinzie's book, Birds of the Roanoke Valley, published in 1985, lists the latest date for a Ruby-throat in the valley as Nov. 7, 1971. This was one of Almon English's records.

I had a hummer, Oct 14 at my Dad's house in Old SW,
Roanoke. Yesterday, Oct 16, I had one at my house in Old SW. My late date
for my backyard is Oct 16, 2008.

Today, October 17th - I have a very fat RT hummer drinking nectar from
my Cuphea llavea; (sometimes called tiny mice or tiny bat flowers)
this plant seems to be a hummer favorite.
