On Tuesday, around 11:30am, I was near the intersection of Gate Gap Road and Dugspur Road in the Algoma section of Franklin County when an adult golden eagle flew between two grassy fields and right over my truck.  This area of Franklin County is right at the base of the Blue Ridges, probably no more than 1-2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
