Love Breakups Zindagi received mixed reviews upon release. Preeti Arora from Rediff.com gave it 2 out of 5 stars, calling it predictable.[5] Gaurav Malani of The Times of India lamented the fact that director Sahil Singha doesn't show any innovation in the storytelling of his debut venture.[6] Writing for CNN-IBN, Rajeev Masand gave the film 2 out of 5 stars writing "Love Breakups Zindagi' is an inoffensive film that has pleasant music and neat production design. First-timer Sahil Sangha directs with an easy hand, giving the film a light-hearted feel. Alas, he's working from a script that offers nothing new or exciting to chew on. I'm going with two out of five for 'Love Breakups Zindagi'. It's a tiring retread of a once popular formula that's wearing thin now."[7]
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi, who is usually seen bearing an intense demeanour, behaved quite to the contrary when she broke into an impromptu jig at the music launch of Love, Breakups, Zindagi, a film produced by Dia Mirza, Zayed Khan and Sahil Sangha.
The event included live performances of the songs of the film by the playback singers. Shabana got so excited when Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Salim Merchant, Sulaiman Merchant and Shradha Pandit were singing Rab rakha that she got up from her place, called over Dia and danced with full enthusiasm.
The audience, along with Shabana's husband Javed Akhtar, who has penned the lyrics for the film, was not only surprised at this but also thoroughly enthralled. The event witnessed the presence of Sanjay Khan, Akbar Khan, Fardeen Khan and Jacky Bhagnani among others.
"The enthusiasm of young directors and producers about their first film can kill anybody. Their enthusiasm almost physically assaulted me to get some songs out of me," an amused Javed Akhtar told reporters.
Love Breakups Zindagi is A romantic comedy and is slated to hit the screens on October 7, 2011. Along with Zayed and Dia, it also stars Cyrus Sahukar, Tisca Chopra, Pallavi Sharda, Satyadeep Mishra and Umang Jain.
"Every woman has to marry someday and I would love to marry as well. I am blessed that I have found a person who I can trust and depend on. When the time is right, we would get married," said Dia.
According to reports, Dia Mirza has fallen in love with Sahil Sangha, co-producer and director of her upcoming film Love, Breakups Zindagi, but she maintains that marriage is not on the cards yet.
