Meeting, last Monday of the month. April 28, 6:30
At the Berry Town Hall. See you there! Might be a big job, seeing we did not do it at all last year. Or, it could be easy because of being closed for construction.

We will find out! You won't want to miss this!

Thanks
John

I think Hwy Clean-up is our April meeting. I can send this through to the Roadside email, but I don't remember our meeting date. There is a required safty video, and possible release form.

Hope you are well.

2025 AAH PERMIT & SPRING INFORMATION

JOHN GEE,

WELCOME to the WisDOT Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) program 2025 Cleanup Season and thank you for being a part of the Southwest Region AAH Team! This letter serves as your 2025 Adopt-A-Highway PERMIT and provides you with important information about how to conduct your cleanups this year. Please read the following information carefully and be sure to contact me with any questions. Your group information is provided below. Please keep this information handy and refer to your GROUP NAME, GROUP NUMBER and SITE NUMBER in your future clean-up reports and any other communications with us.

County: Dane

Your Group Number is: 891 (please refer to this number in all future AAH correspondence)

Your Group Name: ROADSIDE 4 WHEELERS

Your Site/clean-up location is: On Hwy 19 between OLD SETTLERS ROAD TO 1st CTH KP. Clean BOTH sides of the road unless otherwise noted.

Your Site Number is: 13-019-03

·        REQUIRED: REVIEW the Terms and Conditions with all your group members. All clean-up participants must be familiar with and abide by the Terms and Conditions.

·        IMPORTANT: The AAH clean-up season is between April 1st and November 1st each year.  We ask groups to do at least 3 clean-ups per year, or as needed to keep your segment looking clean.

·        If your group does not wish to participate in Adopt-A-Highway anymore, PLEASE fill out the “Abandon a segment” form at:  Wisconsin Department of Transportation Abandon a segment - Adopt-A-Highway program (wisconsindot.gov). This will give opportunities to other groups waiting to adopt a section.

BEFORE APRIL 1ST (START OF SEASON)

  1. Before your first clean-up, contact the Dane County Highway Department at 608-266-4012 to arrange to pick up supplies at their location (trash bags, safety vests and safety signs).

2.      PLEASE provide your coordinator with an updated email address and any other changes to your contact person’s information.  An active email address is now REQUIRED to continue receiving all correspondence from AAH. Call or send an email to me at  AdoptAHi...@dot.wi.gov to update your contact person’s information. Thank you!

  1. Before the start of the each AAH Season, go to our Adopt-A-Highway website to see all the information and forms you will need in the future at: https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/doing-bus/real-estate/roadsides/adopt-hwy/default.aspx [wisconsindot.gov]. Encourage your group members to read through the website as well.

BEFORE 1ST CLEANUP_______________________________________________________________

  1. Be Prepared to bring gloves, grabbers and tic/mosquito spray! WisDOT does NOT provide these items. For your protection, we recommend wearing a hat, solid shoes and long pants for your clean-ups.
  2. REVIEW very important clean-up hazards information (such as wild parsnip and meth lab waste) at: Wisconsin Department of Transportation Clean-up hazards - Adopt-A-Highway program

DURING EACH CLEANUP_______________________________________________________

  1. Always walk facing traffic and at least 3 feet off the road pavement.
  2. DO NOT TOUCH OR PICK-UP ANY LARGE OR HAZARDOUS ITEMS IN THE ROAD OR AT YOUR CLEANUP SITE! Report the location of these items to your County Highway Department for them to pick-up (see contact info in 1. above). See important hazards information at:

AFTER EACH CLEANUP__________________________________________________________

  1. After each clean-up, call Dane County Highway Department at 608-266-4012 to report where your filled bags of trash and recycling are located, and the location of any additional large or hazardous items left within your site.
  2. After each clean-up, Use your Group and Site information provided above to fill-in and submit your Clean-Up Reports online from our website at: Wisconsin Department of Transportation Report a clean-up - Adopt-A-Highway program (wisconsindot.gov). Your reported clean-ups will be credited to your group’s AAH account so that your group stays in “Active” status.

Thank you for reading to the end of this long email, and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. A very big THANK YOU for all your work helping to keep Wisconsin highways clean and beautiful!

Best Regards,

Mary Robb
