Road weather stations and road surface temperature data

Good evenning,

For a research paper, I have a question about some road weather stations.

For exemple the Nupuri road weather station vt1_Espoo_Nupuri. Id 1001:

There is two sensors for road surface temperature. The question is on which lane each sensor is installed. I didn't found the information anywhere on the API requests.

By analyzing street view, they seem to be buried, one for each direction on the slow lane. Am i right?

I have the same question for palojarvi road weather station (60.29328 24.31916)

Hi and thanks for the good question. 

Seems like our API is not fully up to date. We should add the direction information when it can be reliably determined.

You should be able to determine the direction from the name of the sensor.
When name contains:

• TIE_1: Direction 1 and main lane
• TIE_2: Direction 2 and main lane
• TIE_3: Direction 1 and passing lane
• TIE_4: Direction 2 and passing lane

Direction 1 means increasing direction according to road address and 2 to decreasing direction.

I hope this will help you and we make a ticket to fix API with this data.
