Hi, I need help with the following problem.
I am using a Mac Pro laptop with OSX and I am based in the UK. I created a route on the planner and exported it as a GPX file.

On attempting to load it on to a Harley Davidson Boom Box sat-nav it did not load as a composite file but treated each pin  as a destination, effectively loading as a number of separate routes. The bike sat-nav did not recognise the routes.

I assume I am creating the GPX incorrectly but cannot see what I am doing wrong .

Any advice welcome.

Thanks neil

Hi Neil,

You and Road Trip Planner are correctly creating a GPX file; it’s your GPS device that’s giving you a hard time.  If you open the exported GPX file in a GPX app like GPX Viewer  you’ll see it’s a normal correctly-formatted GPX file.  I suggest you contact the makers of your GPS device for assistance in importing GPX files.  You can also try converting the GPX file into a different format using this web site:
Best of luck, and feel free to share your results with us.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi, thanks for info. I have had no problems importing GPX files from Basecamp or hd route planner. Have you heard of any issues uploading to HD Boom Box from your program before I investigate device issues.
Thanks

I personally have not heard of any issues with HD Boom Box, but maybe someone else here may chime in.

I suspect it’s something to do with routes versus tracks or something simple like that.  Just gotta research it.

Is there a way to get a GPX DIRECTLY into the Garmin DriveSmart 60 and bypass Basecamp?   I have a problem SENDING GPX from Basecamp to DriveSmart 60.   Can I bypass Basecamp?

Sorry, but we don’t support hardware or software that we don’t develop.  Someone else on this forum may reply.  Otherwise you would need to contact Basecamp or Garmin.
