Grouping of days of a longer trip

maybe I haven‘t got completely on top of everything by now, but I am missing something like a grouping of a long trip by the individual days of the trip (in the MacOS app…). I am planning a three weeks roadtrip (not all days with actual travel), and each travel day consists of lots of POIs and route pins. For me the most important “bracket” around the many pins are the individual travel days. I would like to focus on those (e.g. a day ahead of the next travel day), export just the route of that day etc. So while I at least can select all pins of a single day and get the total travel time and length of that trip, that selection is not considered for export or other tasks. 

I would even go as far as thinking that the individual days should be a top level node in the list of pins and POIs, rather than just one column of the list where I need to identify identical arrival dates. And all operations should pertain to the one selected day only. So bottom line: I believe the concept of individual travel days should be more prominent and focussed. What do you think? Or did I just miss how a similar concept would work in the current version?
