Aramco Approved Vendor List

Aramco, the world's largest oil company, has a rigorous process for selecting and approving its suppliers. Aramco's approved vendor list (AVL) is a comprehensive database of qualified suppliers who have met Aramco's standards and requirements for providing goods and services. The AVL covers various categories of materials, equipment, and services that are used in Aramco's operations and projects.

The AVL is updated regularly to reflect the current status of suppliers and their products. Suppliers who wish to be considered for opportunities with Aramco must first register with Aramco through its e-Marketplace Platform. The registration process involves submitting basic information about the supplier, such as company profile, contact details, product portfolio, quality certifications, and financial statements. Suppliers must also agree to Aramco's terms and conditions, code of conduct, and anti-corruption policy.

After completing the registration, suppliers will receive a vendor ID and a login credential to access their supplier profile on the e-Marketplace Platform. Suppliers can then update their profile, upload documents, and view their performance ratings. Suppliers can also receive requests for quotations (RFQs) and submit proposals through the platform.

However, registration does not guarantee approval or inclusion in the AVL. Suppliers must undergo a qualification process to demonstrate their technical and commercial capabilities, as well as their compliance with Aramco's specifications and standards. The qualification process may include site visits, audits, inspections, tests, and evaluations by Aramco's experts. Depending on the category and complexity of the products or services, the qualification process may take several months to complete.

Once qualified, suppliers will be added to the AVL and assigned a 9COM number for each product or service they offer. The 9COM number is a unique identifier that consists of six digits followed by four digits. The first six digits indicate the category of the product or service, while the last four digits indicate the specific supplier. For example, 013000-6000000012 is the 9COM number for pipe; steel API 5L; SAW straight; sour; supplied by EuroPipe GmbH.

The AVL is accessible to Aramco's employees and contractors who are involved in procurement activities. They can search for suppliers by 9COM number, product description, vendor ID, or vendor name. They can also filter the results by location, quality level, or approval status. The AVL provides detailed information about each supplier and its products or services, such as technical specifications, test reports, certificates, drawings, prices, delivery times, and contact persons.

The AVL is a valuable tool for Aramco to ensure that it sources high-quality products and services from reliable and reputable suppliers. It also helps Aramco to optimize its supply chain, reduce costs, mitigate risks, and support local content development. Suppliers who are on the AVL benefit from increased visibility and credibility among Aramco's buyers and potential customers. They also have access to Aramco's resources and support to enhance their performance and competitiveness.

To maintain their status on the AVL, suppliers must comply with Aramco's contractual obligations and performance expectations. They must also keep their supplier profile updated and respond to RFQs promptly. Aramco monitors and evaluates the performance of its suppliers regularly using key performance indicators (KPIs), such as quality, delivery, safety, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Suppliers who perform well may receive recognition awards or incentives from Aramco. Suppliers who perform poorly may receive corrective actions or sanctions from Aramco.

Aramco reserves the right to suspend or remove any supplier from the AVL at any time for any reason. Some of the reasons that may lead to suspension or removal include: failure to meet Aramco's specifications or standards; breach of contract; poor performance; unethical behavior; legal issues; bankruptcy; merger or acquisition; change of ownership or management; or discontinuation of products or services.

Aramco strives to maintain a world-class supply chain that is locally accessible, reliable, and innovative. By partnering with qualified suppliers who share its vision and values, Aramco aims to deliver greater value and enable continued growth for itself and its stakeholders.
