If you're interested in placing your entire DVD collection on Roku
Connect here is how it's done. There is a little program out there
that is awesome, it's called handbrake. Download handbrake at
http://handbrake.fr/. This will convert your DVDs to MP4 files and
all you have to do from there is drop them in your video folder and
you're done!

For some reason. the Windows version of Handbrake does not work with
copy protected DVDs. There are however a number of other apps for
Windows that will allow you to "rip" DVDs to MP4 files.

Download an open source program called DVD43. When you have it
running in the background while handbrake is reading the dvd - it
overrides the protection.
Works really good!!!

Thank you so much for this suggestion. It works like a charm. I have
used a number of other DVD backup apps for windows, and this is by far
the best. The resulting file is a reasonable size, and very good
quality. So far, every one I've using Handbrake and DVD43 has played
just fine on the Roku2.
