Installing rna-STAR on a windows 10 machine

Hi All,

I want to install STAR on a windows 10 machine. I am unsure how to do this and which instructions in the manual to follow.

Also, I tried getting STAR with wget in the windows powershell and it failed to download.

Shall be grateful for your help!!

An update: I was able to download the STAR-2.7.9a folder.

Hi Adi,

STAR cannot be run on Windows, unfortunately.

In principle, you can try to do it with cygwin, or a virtual machine, or WSL.

However, it's much easier to install Linux in a dual-boot configuration with Windows.

Most bioinformatics software are not Windows-friendly.
