Hello Alex, 

I just noticed in the manual for the first time the STARconsensus approach. 

Is this extensively tested? Is there a paper showcasing the approach?

Does it reduce mapping bias at indels?

Hi Vitor,

we have a paper describing this approach and its advantages here:

The advantages are relatively small but detectable. It does help with homozygous variants, both SNPs and indels.
