The
Richmond Spring Cleanup will be Saturday, May 16, 9am - 1pm, at
Central Christian Church, 1844 SE Cesar Chavez Blvd - always the Saturday after Mother's Day. This is a FREE
event.
Drive in with a carload of stuff. We will collect
bulky waste (no demolition/construction/remodeling material),
metal and electronics for recycling, we offer a
pickup service for Seniors 70 & over and people with disabilities, and we have a huge U-Price-It Plant and Rummage Sale
where people can drop off or buy reusable household items.
Details at richmondpdx.org/richmondcleanup and on the attached flyer.
PLEASE
NOTE:
- NO Styrofoam recycling. Take your clean styrofoam to Green Century Recycling. Dirty styrofoam will be tossed in bulky waste.
- NO box trucks or rental trucks, vans, trailers. They are too large and pose a safety risk.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: This event
requires over 70 volunteers.
Please let me know if you can help on one or more of the three shifts:
8:30-11:30 am / 11-2 / 1-3. Morning snacks and
pizza lunch provided. Volunteers get items free from the Plant and
Rummage. Must be 15 or over and those 18 and under need a parent to
sign
the waiver form.
Two-person
pickup truck crews are needed to pick up items from seniors and disabled
individuals. We pay $20/hr/person to these crews.
