One Montgomery Green's ECO Leaders Programs: Fall 2024

One Montgomery Green (OMG) has Fall Programs for high school students!

In an effort to empower and educate the public to better adapt and mitigate the impact of climate change, OMG has two main projects:

• Climate Explorers: a climate resilience project whose goal is to engage and educate communities by creating an assessment tool and a response plan that addresses climate change vulnerabilities, resilience, and adaptation;
• Clean Headwaters Program, a six- session course offering high school students an opportunity to perform hands-on community science to determine the extent of the plastics pollution in two Montgomery County streams.

OMG also hosts a program called SAPPlings (Student Advocates Protecting the Planet). SAPPings is a project created by high school students for high school students in Montgomery County, Maryland. Its purpose is to share information about environmental issues and help students take part in meaningful activities to live more sustainably and make a difference in their schools, their communities and the world at large.
