Charles Eddie-Lee Hamilton, Jr. (born November 10,1987 in Cleveland, Ohio), most commonly known as Charles Hamilton, is an American musician from Harlem, New York City, New York. Hamilton burst out onto the mainstream music scene in 2008 when he signed to Interscope Records. Remaining signed to Interscope until late 2009, Hamilton quickly gained popularity by releasing very well-received music at a rapid pace, including a series of 8 2008 projects entitled The Hamiltonization Process and a hit single titled "Brooklyn Girls". Charles took the world by storm with his distinct sound, earning a spot on the cover of the XXL's 2009 Freshmen Class issue and being co-signed by artists such as Kanye West, Pharrell, and Macy Gray. He also shared his thoughts and interacted with fans frequently through his public blog, and was vocal about his "supersonic philosophy", which involves his belief that God is a woman and his love for music, Sonic, and the color pink. Later in his career, Hamilton would sign a deal with Republic Records in 2015, release his major-label debut album Hamilton, Charles, and appear on a season finale of the popular show Empire to perform his hit single titled "New York Raining" featuring Rita Ora. Since 2016, Hamilton has continued to release music independently. Over the years, he's grown a following of "Starchasers", a group of close listeners and supporters of Hamilton.
